Strategy will continue increasing its position in Bitcoin, despite the cryptocurrency's recent sales and the reinforcement of its cash reserve. According to the company's president and CEO, Phong Le, the long-term strategy remains unchanged, with a focus on the continuous accumulation of BTC.
During an interview with Bloomberg TV, Le reaffirmed the company's commitment to Bitcoin. "We’re not going anywhere," said Le. "My goal is to be the biggest buyer of bitcoin in the near future."
In recent weeks, Strategy sold more than US$ 215 million in Bitcoin and raised about US$ 467 million through the issuance of common shares. As a result, its cash position rose to approximately US$ 3 billion, an amount considered sufficient to increase financial flexibility and cover preferred stock dividends for the next two years.
According to Le, part of this strategy meets shareholders' preference for greater liquidity in the short term. The sale of bitcoins also demonstrated that the company's reserves can be quickly converted into funds, when necessary.
Even with the recent pressure on Bitcoin's price, the CEO said that the company's debt does not represent a concern at current market levels.
"When bitcoin approaches US$ 8.000 or US$ 10.000, then we will have to consider the risks associated with our debt. Until that moment, we feel very secure about our balance sheet," said Le.
With Bitcoin trading near US$ 65.000, management considers the capital structure prepared to withstand downturn periods. Le recalled that the company faced the 2022 market while maintaining its accumulation strategy and intends to continue buying Bitcoin in the coming years.
Strategy also intends to expand its fundraising to finance new acquisitions of the cryptocurrency. One of the pillars of this plan is STRC, the company's perpetual preferred stock. When the security returns to the par value of US$ 100, new issuances will be carried out to raise funds.
"When STRC returns to par value, we will issue more shares. We will buy bitcoins," said Le. "This is an important part of our capital plan: to issue more preferred shares over time, because that significantly increases the value of our bitcoin per share, which, in turn, benefits our shareholders."
Le added that Strategy's objective remains to expand its Bitcoin reserves and generate returns above the performance of the cryptocurrency itself through its capital strategy.
