Morgan Stanley announced this Thursday the expansion of its cryptocurrency offering on E*Trade, upon completing the implementation of spot trading for qualified clients. The new feature allows trading Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana directly on the platform, using Zerohash's infrastructure.

With the update, investors can now bring together both traditional assets and crypto in a single environment. The proposal is to simplify portfolio management, allowing stocks, ETFs and cryptocurrencies to coexist in the same account, without the need for multiple services.

The initiative also provides for the introduction of cryptocurrency transfers later this year. This feature should increase users' flexibility, enabling transfers between external wallets and the E*Trade platform, something already common at specialized brokerages.

The integration of cryptocurrencies is part of a broader Morgan Stanley plan to adapt its wealth management structure to new market demands. The institution seeks to serve investors who want exposure to Bitcoin and other cryptos without giving up the security and familiarity of a traditional brokerage.

In addition to the launch of trading, the company introduced additional improvements to the platform. These include new tools focused on retirement planning, expansion of fractional stock trading and a revamped IPO Center, offering more data and access to public offerings.

Another highlight is the update to Power E*TRADE Pro, the desktop version aimed at more advanced users. The changes include performance improvements and new analytical features, focused on making the experience more efficient for active traders.

According to Morgan Stanley, the set of updates reflects the growing demand for comprehensive investment solutions. The inclusion of cryptocurrencies on E*Trade signals a structural change in the financial sector, where traditional platforms begin to incorporate digital assets as an essential part of their offerings.
