MoonPay announced the acquisition of Glide, a startup specializing in infrastructure for cryptocurrency deposits. The transaction was carried out entirely in shares and includes the technology developed by the company, in addition to the incorporation of the entire team into MoonPay. The value of the deal was not disclosed.
Founded in 2023 by Tushar Soni and Qinyu Tong, former members of the team responsible for Robinhood's cryptocurrency wallet, Glide developed a solution that allows apps to receive deposits of any token, wallet, exchange, or card, without users needing to bridge between blockchains or manually swap assets.
According to MoonPay, the platform supports more than 100 tokens across 30 blockchain networks and processes an annualized volume exceeding US$ 100 million. Its technology automatically identifies the fastest and most cost-effective route to move assets, while self-custody smart contracts keep users in control of their funds.
The solution will be integrated into MoonPay Deposits, a service used by apps such as Wallet on Telegram, Moonshot, and Paysafe. The expectation is to simplify the onboarding process for new users and make cryptocurrency deposits faster.
"We created Glide so users could quickly fund their wallets with the tokens they already own and so apps could simplify their onboarding process," said Soni. "Joining MoonPay allows us to combine our deposits product with everything MoonPay offers, such as on-ramps, virtual accounts, and swaps, and bring that to the biggest apps in the world."
Before the acquisition, Glide served more than 50 enterprise clients, which now become part of MoonPay's base. The startup's four employees, including its founders, were also incorporated into the company.
This is the sixth acquisition announced by MoonPay in 2026, following the purchases of Sodot, Decent, DFlow, Entendre, and Dawn Labs. The company continues expanding its portfolio of solutions aimed at the cryptocurrency market.
MoonPay is also backed by investors such as Tiger Global Management and Coatue, in addition to Justin Bieber and Paris Hilton. In 2021, the company raised US$ 555 million in a Series A round, reaching a valuation of US$ 3,4 billion. In 2024, it ended the year with positive cash flow, profit, and 112% growth in net revenue.
