The Bitcoin (BTC) lost momentum after posting its highest price in more than a month and was once again traded below the US$ 66 thousand mark. After reaching US$ 67 thousand on Tuesday, the leading cryptocurrency underwent profit-taking and fell back to the US$ 65.300 region, where it found support before stabilizing again.
The move comes just a few days after a sequence of gains that began with the release of the United States inflation (CPI) data for June. At the time, the market reacted positively to the figures, pushing BTC to the US$ 65.600 range. However, selling pressure gained strength again at the end of last week, taking the asset to around US$ 62.500 on Friday.
The correction, however, was short-lived. Over the weekend, Bitcoin recovered part of the losses and returned to trading near US$ 64 thousand. On Monday, the asset tested the US$ 65 thousand resistance again, but faced another rejection and fell back to US$ 63.750.
From that level, buyers returned, allowing a consistent recovery that took BTC to the US$ 67 thousand peak on Tuesday. Despite the advance, resistance remained firm and the price returned to the US$ 65.600 region on Wednesday and later to approximately US$ 65.300.
With the price stabilizing, Bitcoin's market capitalization remained below US$ 1,32 trillion. At the same time, its share of the cryptocurrency market fell to around 56,5%, indicating that part of the capital migrated to other assets.
Among the day's highlights, the token BCAP, from Blockchain Capital, drew attention after posting a gain of more than 360% in the last 24 hours, reaching approximately US$ 106. Even with the strong advance, market data pointed to virtually nonexistent trading volume, while its market value approached US$ 1 billion.
Among the largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, WLFI led the gains by rising more than 11%, trading near US$ 0,063. STABEL also posted relevant gains, while Hedera (HBAR) and Uniswap (UNI) advanced around 4%.
Other cryptocurrencies, such as Monero (XMR), recorded more moderate gains, close to 2%. In contrast, Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Stellar (XLM), TRON (TRX) and CC traded with slight losses over the last 24 hours.
Even with fluctuations among the main assets, the total cryptocurrency market capitalization remained stable, holding above US$ 2.3 trillion, while investors monitor Bitcoin's next moves after the rejection in the US$ 67 thousand range.
