Swarm Markets (SMT) is a blockchain platform focused on the digitalization and trading of traditional financial market solutions. The project focuses on enabling the tokenization of real-world assets and on offering trading infrastructure in a compatible environment.

Objective and proposal

Swarm was presented as the first organization to make available, on a decentralized and compliant platform, assets such as tokenized Treasury securities and Apple shares. In day-to-day operations, the platform works with real-world asset owners to tokenize collateral and structure trading in a regulated manner.

How the ecosystem works

Swarm adopts a hybrid model that combines the advantages of blockchain-based trading, such as flexibility, speed, and efficiency, with elements of trust and asset breadth typical of traditional exchanges. The proposal is to bring TradFi and DeFi closer together so that the experience is unified in token operations.

Use and application cases

The platform serves issuers seeking compliance assurances to build secondary markets for tokenized securities, including fixed-income products. This direction is supported by the creation of regulatorily secure infrastructure for token-based transactions.

Compliance, transparency, and liquidity

Swarm's mission is to enable transactions with tokens that represent different asset classes in a practical manner, with security and appropriate costs in a compliance context. At the same time, it preserves core DeFi benefits, such as peer-to-peer trading, self-custody, on-chain transparency, and connected liquidity, using the RWA approach.
