BitMart announced the gradual shutdown of its cryptocurrency trading platform, with the definitive end of operations scheduled for January 31, 2027. The decision comes after the company evaluated its operating conditions, the market, and its long-term strategy.

The discontinuation process begins on July 26, 2026. From that date, the exchange will progressively stop accepting new users and will suspend deposits in fiat currencies and cryptocurrencies.

New positions in futures contracts and spot orders will also be discontinued. Automated services, such as copy trading, grid trading, and API trading, will also be gradually removed from the platform.

Spot and futures trading are scheduled to end on August 26. Other products offered by BitMart, including Earn, staking, loans, and Launchpad, will be deactivated according to specific schedules.

The company said that users will still have access to their accounts for a certain period after the end of operations. This access will allow them to make withdrawals and consult historical records of activities on the platform.

BitMart recommends that customers begin the asset withdrawal process as soon as possible. To do so, it will be necessary to complete KYC verification, close open positions, and submit withdrawal requests before the August 26 deadline.

Withdrawals will remain available, but may require additional checks. These include blockchain risk analysis, travel rules, sanctions screening, and proof of the source of funds.

The exchange also warned that withdrawal processing may take longer during periods of high demand. Therefore, submitting requests in advance becomes one of the main measures for users.

Founded in 2017 by Sheldon Xia, BitMart expanded its operations over the years with different trading products and services related to cryptocurrencies.

The shutdown comes as other platforms are also reducing their activities. This week, BitMEX, co-founded by Arthur Hayes, announced that it will end its operations on September 23, 2026, marking another significant exit among traditional cryptocurrency exchanges.
