Bitcoin today once again attracted investor attention by surpassing the US$65 mark, registering a rise of nearly 2% in the last 24 hours. At the time of publication, the leading cryptocurrency was trading at US$65.400,26, recovering some of the ground lost after days of pressure caused by economic and geopolitical uncertainties.
The move comes after a weekend marked by volatility. Negotiations involving the United States and Iran, held in Switzerland, ended without a definitive agreement, increasing caution in global markets. Even so, Bitcoin demonstrated strength by finding support above the $63 region and initiating a consistent recovery.
The previous week, the current US president, Donald Trump, had stated that Washington and Tehran were close to an understanding that could reduce tensions between the two countries. This statement boosted the cryptocurrency market and led Bitcoin to surpass $67. However, the asset failed to sustain this level and ended up giving back some of its gains.
Another factor that has influenced prices recently was the Federal Reserve's decision to keep interest rates unchanged. Despite maintaining interest rates, members of the institution reinforced a cautious stance regarding the next steps in monetary policy, which caused fluctuations in various financial markets.
After falling back to the $63 range, Bitcoin found strong buying interest. The recovery gained momentum over the weekend and allowed the cryptocurrency to reclaim the $65 region, reinforcing the positive sentiment among market participants.
With the rise in BTC, its market capitalization has once again approached US$1,3 trillion. The cryptocurrency's dominance over the rest of the market has also remained high, indicating that a significant portion of capital continues to be concentrated in the leading digital asset.
Among other cryptocurrencies, Ethereum was trading near $1.770, maintaining a daily increase of 3%. BNB remained close to $600, while XRP stayed below $1,15. Solana, meanwhile, extended its gains and approached the $75 mark.
Other positive highlights included Worldcoin, which saw an increase of over 6%, as well as the VVV, ADI, and M tokens. Overall, the total cryptocurrency market capitalization remained close to US$2,29 trillion, mirroring the recovery seen in Bitcoin.
