The Cardano cryptocurrency has experienced a prosperous year in terms of network development, with innovations ranging from node upgrades to governance and scalability.
Even in the face of challenges in the US with the SEC, the network's continued evolution has captured the world's attention, driving greater real-life adoption and, on occasion, outpacing rivals. A proof of this came with the recent revelation of Vodafone, one of the global leaders in the telecommunications sector. The company announced that it will launch an NFT collection on the Cardano network, disregarding other major players in the NFT market such as Ethereum, Polygon and Solana.
The announcement made by Vodafone last Tuesday, June 27, left the Cardano community in an uproar. Vodafone's German customer service hinted in a tweet that the NFT collection would be launched on the Cardano network.

To fuel the excitement, Patrick Tobler, founder of NMKR, confirmed which the German arm of Vodafone would launch an NFT collection on the Cardano network in a tweet on Wednesday, June 28th.
Vodafone expressed admiration for Cardano, highlighting the vibrant community, sustainability and interoperability capabilities in a community-driven message on the project's Discord server.
They stated, “The reason we chose this particular chain comes down to community, sustainability and cross-chain possibilities. We are still in the early stages of this project, so everyone here now is an early supporter and we appreciate that.”
It was also stressed by Vodafone that the NFT collection would focus on “utility and real benefits for Vodafone customers”, although the company has not yet decided what these benefits will be. The company welcomes suggestions from the community.
