Shiba Inu holders unanimously voted to stop minting the ShibaSwap BONE Token, the aim is to allocate rewards to Shibarium validators, which is a big step towards securing Shibarium.
Option A had 97% votes in favor, so the BONE rewards on ShibaSwap will stop sooner than planned. With a maximum supply of 250 million BONE, 20 million of these will now go to Shibarium and its validators/delegators. As such, ShibaSwap has approximately 2,5 million BONE to mint before reaching the threshold of 230 million.
Option B had only (2,12%) in favour. Option B would have its BONE cap increased to 270 million. This proposal was generally criticized by the community as it would have increased the supply of BONE, which holders feared could push the price down.
After the vote passed on June 26, holders of the Bone channel on Shiba Inu Discord celebrated the results. Several holders praised it, stating that it will be better for BONE and the ecosystem in the long run.
Punters are now wondering what will replace these rewards on ShibaSwap. The Shiba Inu team has yet to announce what they will use to replace BONE in ShibaSwap.
