Major Wall Street futures indexes were trading higher this Tuesday, July 21, 2026, as investors turned their attention back to the corporate earnings season and investments in artificial intelligence. The movement also supports risk assets, including the cryptocurrency market.
The S&P 500 Futures was up 0,23%, at 7.501,25 points. The Dow Futures rose 0,12%, to 52.133 points, while Nasdaq Futures led the gains, up 0,59%, at 28.948 points, driven by technology stocks.
Among other indicators, Russell 2000 Futures posted a gain of 0,31%, while the VIX was down 0,64%, to 18,65 points, indicating lower risk perception among investors.
In the cryptocurrency market, Bitcoin was trading at US$ 65.298,88, up 0,81%, tracking the positive performance of U.S. stock futures.
Oil was trading virtually flat this morning, with the Crude Oil Sep 2026 contract quoted at US$ 82,42 a barrel, down slightly 0,07%, after the strong gains recorded in the previous session amid geopolitical tensions.
On Monday, Wall Street closed lower. The Dow Jones lost 307,16 points, the S&P 500 fell 0,19% and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 0,05%, pressured by rising energy prices.
“It seems we will have a quiet week for stock investors, which may be dominated by technical indicators and geopolitical news,” said Callie Cox, chief market strategist at Ritholtz Wealth Management.
“Corporate earnings continue to be released, but they may serve more as support than as a catalyst to drive stock prices, given the high expectations,” she added.
Throughout the week, the market will follow the earnings reports of companies such as Alphabet, IBM, Tesla, General Motors, and 3M, looking for signs about spending on artificial intelligence and the outlook for the rest of the year.
