- XRP and RLUSD for AI-powered autonomous payments
- Ripple bets on machine-to-machine economics.
- XRPL offers fast settlement for AI agents.
Ripple is expanding its operations in the artificial intelligence segment by to present a new set of tools Aimed at developers who want to integrate automated payments into AI-based applications, the initiative seeks to connect the XRP Ledger (XRPL) to the growth of the machine-to-machine economy, in which AI agents independently perform tasks, including financial transactions, without human intervention.
In recent months, artificial intelligence systems have begun to perform more advanced functions than simply generating text, images, or code. In some cases, these agents can already contract services, access platforms, and acquire computing resources autonomously, creating demand for fast and efficient payment solutions.
To serve this market, Ripple introduced the AI Starter Kit, a collection of tools developed to facilitate the creation of applications that use XRP and RLUSD as payment methods. According to the company, the goal is to allow AI agents to make and receive payments directly on the XRPL network.
The new solution includes support for the X402 standard, enabling automated applications to pay for access to APIs, AI model processing, cloud infrastructure, and other digital services using the native assets of the Ripple ecosystem.
One of the points highlighted by the company is the operational predictability offered by the XRP Ledger. While some networks rely on fees that vary according to demand and smart contracts to execute transactions, XRPL offers settlement in seconds and transaction costs known in advance by developers.
This feature can be relevant for artificial intelligence applications that require frequent and automated payments. With predictable costs, agents can execute transfers without having to deal with disputes over fees or delays related to transaction confirmation.
Another feature presented involves the decentralized exchange integrated into the protocol. In this model, an AI agent can send RLUSD while the recipient receives XRP, or perform the reverse process, all in a single transaction. The asset conversion occurs directly within the network infrastructure.
Ripple also highlighted the XRP Ledger's operational history as a key differentiator for automated financial applications. According to the company, the network has operated continuously for 14 years without transaction reversals, a characteristic considered important for systems that rely on automated payment execution.
The first phase of the AI Starter Kit includes access to documentation through AI assistants, digital wallet tools, payment solutions for autonomous applications, and support for the X402 protocol, the result of a collaboration with t54.
