The XRP Ledger is now live on the QuickNode platform. Blockchain infrastructure company QuickNode announced on June 30 that it has added support for the XRP Ledger.
“We are excited to announce the addition of the XRP Ledger (XRPL) as the 23rd blockchain protocol supported by QuickNode. By adding XRPL to our ecosystem, QuickNode will help XRPL developers build their business and bring web3 closer to mass adoption with trusted blockchain solutions,” the company stated in note.
In the announcement, the company explained that XRPL is especially beneficial for developers looking to build real businesses.
With protocol features improved over the last decade to enable the development of blockchain Scalable, developers can create innovative projects and applications across all use cases, including payments, tokenization, DeFi, and more.
The native cryptocurrency of the XRP Ledger is XRP, a transaction-optimized neutral bridge asset. As QuickNode highlighted, XRP serves as a medium of exchange to facilitate transactions quickly, cheaply and sustainably, and can also be used to transact on the decentralized exchange (DEX) of the XRP Ledger or engage with tokenized assets.
XRP Ledger as CBDC Pilot
A recently announced partnership between the Central Bank of Colombia, Banco de la República, Ripple and software development company Peersyst aims to exploration of blockchain technology on the XRP Ledger (XRPL).
On Twitter, Peersyst explained that the purpose of the partnership is: “Evaluate the possible efficiencies of a solution using the Ripple CBDC Platform based on the core technology of the XRP Ledger to improve use cases in the high-value payment system. We will continue to provide information as the program progresses, projected for this 2023″.
The Central Bank, in conjunction with the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (MinTIC), will test use cases that will enhance Colombia's high-value payment system using Ripple's CBDC Platform, powered by the XRP Ledger ( XRPL), explained in a note.
