A new era at the intersection of fashion, sports and technology is about to be ushered in. Nike has announced a partnership innovative partnership with EA Sports, aiming to bring its virtual sports apparel – in the form of NFTs – into popular EA sports video games.
Details of which EA games will receive these items have yet to be released, but more popular titles such as FIFA are expected to be on the list. The promise is that in the coming months, players around the world will be able to personalize their gaming experiences with Nike's "virtual creations".

Nike's NFTs were named .Swoosh, initially released in November 2022 on the Polygon platform. Since then, the platform has provided users with the opportunity to trade NFTs and gain access to tangible Nike products and events. With this new partnership, the company aims to further expand the reach and applications of its virtual creations.
With this initiative, Nike and EA are looking to bring new levels of customization to players, allowing them to express their personal style through gameplay. “This partnership will allow us to unlock some amazing new experiences for our .SWOOSH community and the massive EA SPORTS fan base,” said Ron Faris, General Manager, Nike Virtual Studios.
Nike's .Swoosh platform is already in closed beta, however, starting May 24, Nike opened general access, and on June 1 released its first NFT sneaker collection, titled Our Force 1, in a tribute to to the brand's popular Air Force 1 sneakers. Over 97.000 sneakers have been sold to nearly 53.000 addresses.
With the new EA Sports partnership, Nike looks forward to bringing more innovation, creativity and excellence to its products and the wider gaming community.
