zkPass (ZKP) is a decentralized oracle protocol that converts private internet data into verifiable proofs directly on the blockchain. The proposal combines zero-knowledge cryptography with an approach based on zkTLS to make facts derived from HTTPS websites auditable on-chain.

How zkPass works

zkPass allows users and applications to prove claims obtained from any HTTPS website without relying on OAuth, API keys, or trusted intermediaries. Thus, verification takes place through proofs that can be checked on the network.

zkTLS and ZKP in practice

The foundation of the protocol lies in zkTLS, described as an integration between 3P-TLS and Hybrid-ZK cryptography. This structure enables the generation of proofs from data originating from HTTPS connections, while preserving the private nature of the information.

What zkPass is used for

The main use of zkPass is to enable privacy-preserving oracles, transforming web inputs into verifiable on-chain results. As a result, applications that need fact validation can reduce their dependence on external trust.
