Smooth Love Potion (SLP) is a token used within the Axie Infinity gaming ecosystem, especially in the Play-to-earn model. Players can obtain SLP as rewards by participating in battle or adventure modes.

How SLP is used in the Axie Infinity ecosystem

In addition to serving as a reward, SLP can be used to breed new digital pets called Axies. These Axies are generated via a breeding process, connecting the token to the cycle of creating and using the game's characters.

The token was known as Small Love Potion before the update that moved it to the Ronin blockchain.

Breeding rules and reproduction limit

To start breeding, breeding begins with a cost of 100 SLP and increases according to the number of times the Axie is bred. In the second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth breeding, the costs gradually rise to the values specified by the protocol.

There is also a reproduction limit: each Axie can be bred a maximum of seven times, and the cost of the seventh breeding is 2.100 SLP. This cap is used to help prevent hyperinflation in the SLP market.

SLP and the Play-to-earn concept

Smooth Love Potion helps popularize Play-to-earn by allowing activity within Axie Infinity to be converted into tokens usable within the ecosystem itself. In countries such as the Philippines, the model gained prominence among players seeking to participate in GameFi dynamics.

As a Gaming Utility Token, SLP also reinforces the integration between Ethereum Ecosystem and Ronin Ecosystem in in-game use.
