Puffer (PUFFER) is a decentralized platform focused on improving the scalability and security of the Ethereum ecosystem through restaking and rollup solutions. The project combines different components to address performance and liquidity challenges, offering an execution flow with fast settlement.

How Puffer works

Puffer is built from natively restaked validators and an associated AVS. This structure supports the platform's rollup stack, integrating restaking mechanisms with the system's efficiency goals.

Among the ecosystem elements are liquid restaking (LRT) and a rollup model called Based Rollups. The proposal also includes a preconfirmation AVS component, aimed at anticipating steps within the validation process.

What the rollup system is for

The UniFi based rollup stack seeks to reduce the liquidity fragmentation observed in the Ethereum ecosystem. By organizing the operation of rollups with a focus on liquidity, Puffer aims to facilitate the movement of value between different parts of the network.

In addition, the stack was designed to offer instant settlement and fast transactions, with times on the order of 100ms mentioned in the context of the project.

Main products and proposal

In practice, Puffer brings together liquid staking and liquid restaking governance token solutions within the same product arrangement. The combination of LRT, rollups, and the AVS makes it possible to coordinate security and execution within the scalability layer.

With activity associated with the Layer 2 (L2) universe and the rollup proposal, Puffer positions itself as an infrastructure for Ethereum expansion, keeping decentralized logic as its foundation.
