Klima Protocol K2 (K2) is a redesigned decentralized carbon marketplace proposal to support pricing, retirement, and offset mechanisms. Within this ecosystem, the K2 token works alongside $kVCM in a two-token model aimed at forming prices based on supply, demand, and user governance.

How Klima Protocol K2 works

The core of the system is the Autonomous Asset Manager (AAM), which enables pricing and liquidity for tokenized carbon assets through the interaction between $kVCM and K2. The protocol's logic seeks for the price to be determined internally, rather than by external liquidity pools.

What Klima Protocol K2 is used for

Klima Protocol aims to improve how carbon is priced and how retirement and offset processes are operationalized. By using tokenized assets, the network seeks to organize these mechanisms around user participation in value formation.

Technology and incentives on the network

The model combines the AAM with governance and a programmatic incentives system. In addition, the protocol does not charge users fees, and the value generated tends to return to network participants through the portfolio and the system's own rewards.
