Open Campus (EDU) is a decentralized education protocol aimed at educators, content creators, parents, students, and co-publishers. The proposal seeks to address challenges in the sector, such as insufficient recognition and compensation for teachers and parents' lack of control over the educational content consumed by their children.

How the network works and the role of the ecosystem

The protocol focuses on giving the ecosystem of teachers autonomy to create, own, share, and commercialize educational content. With this, the community can organize the publishing and distribution of materials within an environment designed to reduce asymmetries between those who teach and those who control the use of the content.

The project also envisions co-publishers participating in the financial support linked to the monetization of creations.

NFTs, EDU Foundation, and content monetization

Open Campus intends to have an EDU Foundation to enable the monetization of creations using NFT technology. In this model, creators can publish educational assets and co-publishers can act as support in the value arrangement.

The “Publisher NFT” appears as a central piece of NFT-based publishing within the protocol ecosystem.

Token use and next steps

EDU serves as the foundation for educational activities in the EDU Foundation, including a peer review system, smart donation, the purchase and sale of Publisher NFTs, and the granting of scholarship grants.

As a continuation, the project plans to expand the marketplace for the creation and sale of assets by content creators, in addition to improving foundation features such as Smart Donation and Scholarship Grants.
