Meta announced today a package of changes for Facebook, focused on increasing engagement and making the experience more organized.

The new features include an exclusive app for those who sell on Marketplace, a free identity verification system, and a new way to watch videos.

Marketplace has established itself as one of the pillars of the social network, accumulating more than 430 million listings per month. With a base of more than 1.1 billion active people, the tool is cited as one of the reasons that still attract young audiences to the platform.

To support this volume, the company created a separate app aimed at those who post listings frequently. Named "Seller," it brings together in one place the management of items for sale, messaging with interested buyers, and performance tracking for each listing.

Another front is Facebook Verified, a free badge that should not be confused with Meta Verified, a paid service that offers the blue badge and additional benefits.

In the new model, it is enough to send a selfie to prove that there is a real person behind the profile. After the check, the symbol appears in the Dating, Marketplace, and Groups sections, displayed as a check mark inside a white circle.

The company is also testing an optional full-screen video display, activated as soon as the app is opened. The feature debuts in international markets with high audiovisual consumption and arrives in the United States only next year.

Those who prefer the traditional format will be able to turn off the function and return to feed navigation. A similar experiment had already been conducted on Instagram in different regions.

Launching apps has become a habit at Meta, which expanded its portfolio to serve distinct user profiles. In May, it introduced Forum, inspired by Reddit and linked to Groups, and this month it launched Pocket, aimed at experience-based programming.

The company also said that it intends to incorporate artificial intelligence into the sales environment, automating tasks such as writing product descriptions and searching for answers within communities.
