Magic Eden, the leading NFT marketplace platform, today announced a significant new expansion: support for minting and trading on the Base network. This move is seen as a strategic step to further consolidate its position in the NFTs scene, especially considering that Magic Eden already supports other major blockchains such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Polygon and Solana.
The integration with Base comes at a crucial time, given the growing popularity of L2 NFT, where Magic Eden seeks to capture a considerable portion of this expanding market. As reported by NFT Pulse, Magic Eden led the market last week in terms of number of users, trading volume and royalties paid, indicating its strong presence and influence in the sector.

From now on, Magic Eden users will be able to transact in collections of NFTs already popular on Base, such as Onchain Gaias and Tiny Based Frogs. Furthermore, the platform celebrates the news with three exclusive launches through the Magic Eden Launchpad: Offline Oracles, Buddies and JOURNEY.
Additionally, Magic Eden introduced Diamond Rewards, which encourage the purchase, listing and gifting of NFT collections on Base. Among the collections with increased rewards, Bomefers, Onchain Gaias, Swatches and Primitives stand out.
This new functionality suggests that future airdrops of the platform could benefit users who accumulate these assets now. Magic Eden Wallet also already supports Base assets, opening up even more options for its users.
Base NFT is currently one of the most dynamic fields in cryptocurrencies, with significant activity taking place on the network. Magic Eden faces competition from OpenSea, but is well positioned to potentially take the lead in the NFT market on Base, providing new momentum for both small and large collections.
For those interested in Runes, Magic Eden also offers a new platform for trading these assets, although the experiment is still in its early stages.
