One of the oldest and largest American comic book publishers, DC Comics, Inc., announced that the company has partnered with Palm NFT Studio to release a large amount of non-fungible token (NFT) collectibles. The NFT launch will take place during DC Fandome on October 16th and the artwork for the NFT will feature superheroes like Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn.

Two weeks from now, on October 16, American comic book publisher DC Comics plans to release a slew of non-fungible collectibles (NFT) featuring the company's most beloved characters at the DC Fandome event. DC Comics' NFT downfall is in partnership with Palm NFT Studio and the comic book publisher plans to release a series of NFTs featuring Harley Quinn, Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman and Green Lantern.
The announcement that was revealed to Bitcoin.com News explains that the NFTs were hand-selected by DC Editor and Creative Director Jim Lee. ,” Lee explained in a statement sent to our newsdesk. "This fall pays homage to our 21-year history as it envisions a future in which NFTs play a key role in new ways to interact with DC content and unlock new experiences."

The announcement details that 2020 DC Fandome had 22 million global views across 220 countries and territories in just 24 hours. The company expects the 2021 Fandome numbers to surpass last year's, making it the "first large-scale virtual event with a record powered by NFTs and very likely one of the biggest NFT downturns of all time." The company said it collaborated with Palm NFT Studio because the company is "flexible because artists are creative."

Furthermore, the comics publisher emphasizes that “the blockchain from Palm offers a 99,99% reduction in energy usage compared to proof-of-work (PoW) systems. The blockchain allows DC to create millions of NFTs for fans “at almost zero cost,” details DC. DC Comics entered the NFT industry recently and has already released NFTs via Orbis Blockchain Technologies Limited and the Veve Digital Collectibles app.
Marvel Comics also entered the NFT space by taking advantage of Orbis and the Veve app. Additionally, both companies cautioned freelance artists not to publish company-branded characters without permission from Marvel or DC Comics. American comic book publisher DC explains that the next NFT downfall will have certain levels of rarity. DC Comics states:
The debut release offers fans the opportunity to collect three skins for each character in three levels of rarity. For example, fans of Themyscira Princess also known as Wonder Woman can collect a Common (George Peréz 1 Wonder Woman #1987), Rare (2021 Nubia and Alitha Martinez's #1 Amazons) and/or Legendary (Yara Flower in 2021) Future State: Wonder Woman #1 by Jenny Frison) cover.
