Animoca Brands has taken another step toward integrating artificial intelligence and digital payments by completing a pilot project in a real-world environment developed in partnership with Visa. The initiative incorporates AI-based commerce capabilities into the Minds platform, enabling intelligent agents to help users throughout the entire purchase process.

Initially, the novelty is available in selected establishments in Hong Kong, starting with the online store of Bruce Lee Club Ltd. In this environment, AI agents can identify products, find benefits compatible with the user’s card, and complete the purchase within the permissions previously authorized.

The project uses the Visa Intelligent Commerce infrastructure, a solution created to allow AI intelligence agents to perform commercial tasks securely. The platform also incorporates a directory of Visa rewards and benefits, enabling each agent to check promotions compatible with the cards registered by the user.

With this integration, Minds stops acting only as a product research or recommendation tool. The platform begins to offer interactive commerce features, where agents can carry out concrete actions on behalf of the consumer, always respecting the limits defined during account setup.

According to Animoca Brands, the system’s architecture was developed to prioritize transaction security. The model uses tokenized payment credentials, authentication, authorization controls, and fraud prevention mechanisms to validate each purchase initiated by AI agents.

Another differentiator presented is the new rewards directory. With it, agents can automatically analyze offers available in Hong Kong and China, considering the card used, consumer preferences, and the user’s purchase intent. In this way, the system eliminates the need to manually compare benefits programs before finalizing an acquisition.

The initiative follows Visa’s strategy to expand the commercial use of artificial intelligence at scale. The company previously stated that its agent-based commerce ecosystem brings together more than one hundred partners, in addition to dozens of agents and facilitators integrated directly into Visa Intelligent Commerce.

Animoca Brands president and cofounder Yat Siu highlighted the partnership’s goal by saying that the collaboration seeks to bring the new generation of intelligent agents closer to the global payments infrastructure that is already established. The company presents the updated capabilities of the Minds platform during the LEAP East event, held between July 8 and 10 in Hong Kong, demonstrating how artificial intelligence can take on an increasingly active role in digital shopping experiences.
