In order to teach young Brazilians in situations of social vulnerability about the crypto and blockchain universe, Upland announced, this Wednesday (21), a long-term partnership with UNICEF Brazil.
“Helping to prepare Brazilian youth for a bright future on the web3 and in the metaverse, Upland is proud and honored to announce a long term partnership with UNICEF Brazil! The two major programs in this partnership are a holiday fundraiser held in Upland and educational content facilitated through UNICEF's One Million Opportunities (1MiO) program. Proceeds from the sale will be used as a direct donation to the United Nations Children's Fund, including dedicated funds to support and sponsor UNICEF's educational programs in Brazil," he announced.

UNICEF Brazil Education Program
As Upland explained, approximately 50% of the company's fundraising proceeds feed the UNICEF 1MiO program. The other 50% goes towards the resources needed to build and launch the assets of the UNICEF needed to launch the fundraiser.
“The educational program content is curated by UNICEF's One Million Opportunities (1MiO) initiative and developed by Upland. Led by UNICEF Brazil, the initiative (1MiO) is a multisectoral articulation between the private sector, governments, civil society and youth, creating opportunities for professional qualification, employability and income generation for young people (from 14 to 29 years old) in vulnerable situations”.
Students will be trained in five different competencies:
Basic abilities: basic education in web3, technology blockchain, smart contracts and metaverse
Job-specific skills: Identify opportunities in the metaverse economy and teach young people about new positions and opportunities in the web3 industry
Digital skills: Students will learn how to work in the Upland metaverse, how to mint properties and other digital collectibles, increase their net worth, complete collections, win challenges, and participate in community events
entrepreneurial skills: Students will learn how to become a metapreneur and build their businesses on top of the Upland metaverse.
transferable skills: Students will learn how to transfer their learnings, including real estate, income, staking, tokenization, and other forms of web3-related education, and apply them in real life.
Upland's UNICEF Brazil Fundraiser
According to Upland, players can purchase two different types of items in support of UNICEF Brazil: UNICEF Winter Gnomes and UNICEF Winter Ornaments.
According to the announcement, players need to go to the UNICEF showroom in Upland's Rio de Janeiro to buy a winter gnome for outdoor decoration. Upland explained that "Five Winter Gnomes will be sent to the Showroom every three hours until supplies last – if you don't find any, wait for more to arrive!"
