The team behind the meme cryptocurrency Shiba Inu (SHIB) recently revealed a major hardfork to shibarium, a powerful layer 2 network in the ecosystem. According to the official statement, the update should go live on May 2nd.
The protocol developers highlighted the importance of the feature, highlighting that this is a “transformative update for Shibarium”.
“We are on the cusp of a transformative update for Shibarium. Through a hard fork expected to launch on May 2, we are introducing a suite of new features designed to enhance the user experience and empower our community of innovators and developers,” he wrote.
According to the team behind Shiba Inu, this update will significantly increase the security and consistency of the network, providing a reliable foundation for user projects. The developers highlighted that a hard fork is a necessary upgrade to unlock next-level features on the SHIB network. “This is not just a technical change; it’s about adding new value and simplifying engagement with Shibarium,” he said.
“With this update, we are implementing faster block processing times and more predictable transaction fees, responding directly to community feedback to improve the usability and performance of the platform.
